Cui bono a civil war? To whom it matters. Throughout history, religion has played a pivotal role in maintaining the balance of power. Power was aligned with the interests of the kingdom that controlled the money, whether through courts, lands or marriages. The legacy of this era is well known: families of bankers and business leaders still hold wield religious power today. Some of these groups have been accused of belonging to secret societies, such as the Freemasons, the Knights Templar and the Illuminati, in order to protect their interests.

If people were a religion, there would be millions of them and they would be divided into groups based on power. When we think of ancient Greece and its philosophers, such as Plato, Socrates and Aristotle, religion inevitably springs to mind. In the Athenian environment, politics was open only to citizens, with foreigners excluded. However, women played a significant societal role beyond politics. This links the local, rural world of ancient Greece to today's globalised world. Without Plato's concept of the 'Republic' or Aristotle's idea of the 'political animal', ancient moral judgement would not have been passed on to the modern world in the form of capitalism.

In mythology, Pandora is associated with Prometheus, who the latter was punished for giving humanity fire. While the meaning of Pandora opening the box is open to interpretation, the advent of capitalism and perpetual warfare has brought this issue into the playful and imaginative realm of XXI (st)-century religion. Is it crazy to attribute religion to technology itself? Who holds the power?

While reading a Brazilian magazine, I came across an article by Beluzzo claiming that Trump was trying to re-establish an elite order by appointing billionaires to his government. The capitalism that the Western world has experienced since the rise of the Asian tigers seems to have evolved. Brzezinski commented on the technocratic world that the Americans would have to manage, predicting that the Internet would drive this new world order. However, he feared a rapprochement between Russia and China. The world has indeed gone in the direction he predicted: the Internet has become the defining phenomenon of the 21st century and those in power now have more control than ever.

Pandora's Box's current focus is Iran, Palestine and the wider Middle East region. Previously, the focus was on Ukraine, and there has also been tension between Pakistan and India. At the beginning of May, I mentioned that Germany and other European countries were considering investing in defence. Initially, I only commented on the Scandinavian countries, but the discussion has now spread across Europe. They want to find an enemy, and Russia is it. It's strange that Trump is fighting with everyone and that the Europeans are distancing themselves from China and Russia. Sooner or later, a war in which the Americans confront China over Taiwan is likely to occur. Meanwhile, everything indicates that North Korea is likely to enter the conflict as events unfold in Asia.

The religion that empowers humanity already has followers who behave like superheroes. While it is difficult to predict how far the deep state will go with the Malthusian plan, one thing is clear: religion must inspire forgiveness for the actions of those in power.  Only time will tell what will happen next.
